I have been working in the mental health field for over 15 years an have served children and adults in the IDD, MH, SU, and Sex Offender populations. I am also a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist. I have a strong desire to enable individuals, who receive mental health services to access services, make choices, pursue aspirations, and live and interact with dignity and respect in their communities. My Bachelor of Arts in Sociology along with my Master’s of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke has taught me social competence that will allow me to help individuals cope with their illnesses. Having worked in the mental health field and providing therapy since 2015, has helped me to develop a deeper understanding of these individuals and has enabled me to not show bias toward any individual that is willing to get help.

I am a passionate Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Qualified Supervisor and Certified Clinical Supervisor, Certified Sex Therapy Informed Practitioner and National Certified Counselor. I have been a Mental Health First Aid Instructor (Adult & Youth Curriculum) since 2015. I am also a Prepare Enrich, Prime for Life and Darkness to Light Instructor. I earned a Master of Art in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I have over 15 years of experience working with adults and children who have been abused or neglected and that have various substance abuse and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and trauma. My goal is to establish a therapeutic relationship with each individual while striving to be honest and maintain professionalism at all times. Homework assignments will be given as appropriate and relaxation exercises may be presented to encourage problem solving and coping skills. I believe in empowering individuals to overcome personal obstacles that may be keeping them from reaching their goals in life.

With over 16 years of experience in the mental health field, I have dedicated my career to serving children and adults within the IDD, MH, SU, Sex Offender populations, and Veterans. As a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Sociology from NC State University and a Master of Science degree in Service Agency Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. My passion lies in offering emotional support, reassurance, and encouragement to individuals and the community, particularly in the underserved and marginalized populations.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who has a passion to provide holistic therapy to individuals, athletes and their families while improving their quality of life. Additionally, I have a background in crisis management and 12 years of experience as an art educator.
I am a dedicated and empathetic Counselor with 4 years of experience providing comprehensive counseling services to students in a school setting. I love the opportunity to utilize my expertise and passion for helping others in a dynamic clinical setting.

With a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, I have made significant contributions to the well-being of various communities through my roles in social services, veteran support, and behavioral health.
Tosha McGirt graduated from the University of NC at Pembroke with a Bachelor of
Science in Biology, concentrating in Molecular Biology in 2000. After graduation, Tosha
worked as an educator in the private sector for four years before becoming an
Admissions Evaluator for Fayetteville Technical Community College. In 2006, she
transitioned into the mental health field, where she discovered her passion for teaching
life skills and coping mechanisms to children, adults, and families. Over the years, she
has accumulated 17 years of experience working directly with both adults and children.
Recently, she has added Quality Management and Training to her skillset. Throughout
her various roles, Tosha's love for teaching and inspiring has remained constant.
I am focused on helping the community whether that be individual therapy, group counseling, or integrated health care services. I am committed to providing support for those struggling with issues related to domestic violence, substance abuse and other life disturbances.
I am a Master of Social Work (MSW) student at Walden University, currently completing my advanced-year internship requirements. I am on track to graduate in May 2025. With a focus on trauma and evidence-informed care, I utilize approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed methods, and mindfulness techniques. I am passionate about serving underserved and underprivileged populations and dedicated to helping clients build resilience and achieve their wellness goals as I prepare for a career as a licensed clinical social worker.
I am a graduate student in training enrolled in UNCP’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program with an anticipated graduation of May 2025. Upon graduation, I will also receive a Graduate Certificate in Addictions Counseling. I believe in a person-centered approach to counseling, fostering a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions. I am committed to empowering individuals to recognize their strengths, embrace resilience, and achieve personal growth. Guided by evidence-based practices and cultural sensitivity, I aim to tailor support to each client's unique journey, promoting holistic healing and well-being.
LaToya has been in retail marketing for almost 20 years and was looking to take her experience to another career in mental health as a Certified Peer Support Specialist. One of her passions is training others. LaToya can assist and instruct a wide variety of classes and really enjoys teaching people. The focus is to help people feel confident, comfortable and above all have fun during their training. Her training’s are interactive working with the mannequins hands on and also practicing wrapping bandages on their classmates. LaToya’s goal for her students when they complete the training is to walk away smiling and saying,” That was the most enjoyable class I’ve ever taken, and I feel confident in using my skills if needed.” LaToya will soon be trained in National Crisis Intervention Plus (NCI+) and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
I believe in encouraging people to share Christ Jesus wherever we go to draw people with LOVE regardless of what they’ve done and where they’ve been. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from UNCP and an MBA from American Intercontinental University. With 25 years of combined mental health and correctional services experience, I am also a Qualified Professional and also possesses a Certified Addiction Professional, International Reciprocity from Florida and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor for NC. I've visited many correctional institutions throughout America providing hope and motivational messages. My favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 11:1 For faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.
Danita will be providing counseling for those struggling with addictions, sex offenders, DWI assessments and ADETS.
I am currently a graduate student enrolled at Liberty University in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program as a Counselor in Training. My anticipated graduation date is August 2025. My background consist of two years in elementary education and I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fayetteville State University. I am motivated to help children and young women on their wellness journeys using a safe therapeutic environment that encourages honesty and healing.
I have a passion for helping individuals with Mental Health and Substance Use concerns. I am a North Carolina Army National Guard veteran and will be graduating in December 2025 from UNCP.
